Darwin Test

Darwin test is an application to validate and check records from tables using the Darwincorev2 format or the Darwincore 1.4 (standard DarwinCore2 version 1.2 & Darwincore version 1.4) to the exchange of information about specimens and observations from natural history collections.

Darwin Test is a easy-to-use program, and can be used to validate data in the DarwinCore format, before uploading databases to the GBIF network.

Darwin Test is developed and supported by the Coordination Unit of the Spanish GBIF national node. Its user interface is available in spanish and english.

GBIF Integrated Publishing Toolkit

The GBIF Secretariat developed the Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) as a software platform to facilitate the efficient publishing of biodiversity data on the Internet, using the GBIF network.

This Java-based tool manages three types of data: taxon primary occurrence data, taxonomic checklists and resource metadata. Through the IPT, users will be able to publish data residing on local databases, upload existing files in comma-separated and tab-delimited form, and access central services to make use of standardised controlled vocabularies and data quality reporting services.

Manisnet

Manisnet Georeferencing Calculator is a tool that aid in the georeferencing of descriptive localities such as those found in museum-based natural history collections. This tool was written by John Wieczorek and is now available in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
